MY OFFERINGS

Vinyasa

Connect with your body, breath and being in this dynamic style of class. Attention to breath is the thread through the practice as we incorporate fun flows, explore shapes and build heat.

L1/2 Suitable for all levels- build more heat by opting in for more vinyasa repetitions, or take it easy by choosing less.

L2/3 Let’s play! This class is open to anyone with a solid foundational yoga practice looking to experiment and advance their asana practice.

Yin

This is a sweet floor based practice of shapes held between 3-5 minutes each. Yin yoga allows the body to release tension stored in the connective tissue by supporting longer holds while the body is in a cool state.

You will be guided into different shapes that correspond with particular meridian lines to balance Qi (energy) to bring the physical, emotional & thought bodies back into balance. This practice supports your joints, mobility, body awareness and ability to slow right down and be still. We may work with some Myofascial Release techniques to access common trigger points in the fascia.

Myofascial Release

Myofascial release refers to the technique of applying gentle pressure on 'trigger points' to release tension in the connective tissues (fascia) that bind and support our muscles, organs, bones, joints, nerve fibers and other structures of our body.

Myofascial release can be incorporated into your yoga asana practice in a number of ways and has numerous benefits:

RECOVERY: myofascial release can reduce muscle tension by stimulating the stretch reflex in muscles, which aids in alleviating muscle aches and pain.

CIRCULATION: releasing of muscle knots helps to improve blood flow in the area, thereby keeping the connective tissues well hydrated and oxygenated, and aids in muscle recovery.

RANGE OF MOVEMENT: myofascial release techniques help promote the slide and glide of the connective tissues surrounding the joints, protecting them from friction and lack of lubrication, hence improving the flexibility and movement of the joints.

AWARENESS: MFR facilitates an improved awareness and coordination of your body, aiding to clear the pathway for nerve signals flowing to the brain.

STRESS: emotional stress can also cause cause physical tension within the body. MFR is a style of deep tissue self-massage. Releasing physical tension around the body can be relaxing and therapeutic.
